Something fishy! (Print 2241265) Victoria The high walls and forebodingGlasgow's Briggait Fish Market was a hive of activity in 1965. While downstairs, it was all hustle and bustle, with trays of fresh fish flying out the door, upstairs, in the merchants' offices, it was all paperwork, and jingling telephones. Opening long before dawn, come 10am, it was all over, with the workies hosing down their slabs, ready for the next day's haul. Opened in 1873, the Briggait used to be the gathering point for Glasgow's fishwives.
